GloBall Life Brings Athletes Together During WNBA All-Star Weekend to Build What's Next

CHICAGO, IL - July 16, 2026 - As thousands of fans gather in Chicago for WNBA All-Star Weekend, GloBall Life is bringing together another side of the sports world-one focused not on the game itself, but on what comes after it.

On Friday, July 24, GloBall Life will host GloBall Life Connect Chicago, a curated networking and speaker event designed to help current and former athletes navigate life after sports with greater confidence, clarity, and community. The event will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at NYCH Gallery, 2025 S. Laflin Street, Chicago, IL

GloBall Life Connect Chicago will feature current and former athletes, business leaders, and sports professionals sharing real-world experiences about career transition, entrepreneurship, leadership, and building meaningful lives beyond competition. The event is designed to foster authentic conversations and meaningful connections while introducing athletes to resources that can support their next chapter.

Featured speakers include former Chicago Bulls guard C.J. Watson, whose journey from an undrafted NBA player to entrepreneur, investor, author, and philanthropist reflects the many possibilities that can exist beyond an athletic career. Also joining the conversation is Chelsea Poppens, former professional basketball player and member of the ownership group of LOVB San Francisco, who will share her perspective on leadership, athlete identity, and opportunities beyond the court.

"Every athlete eventually faces a transition," said Abiola Wabara, Founder and CEO of GloBall Life and former Baylor National Champion and professional basketball player. "The difference is whether they're prepared for it. GloBall Life Connect Chicago is about creating a space where athletes can learn from people who have successfully navigated that journey, build meaningful relationships, and leave with greater confidence about what's next."

Attendance is complimentary, but registration is required due to limited capacity.
